"'I'm not doing a very good job of this,' he admitted as he took a deep breath. 'But what I'm trying to say is that when you did that spell yesterday, you inadvertently turned everyone who was at the assembly into flesh-eating zombies.'"
Summary: (From B.O.B) Quiet, unpopular, noncheerleading Mia is blissfully happy. Rob-super hot football god- has asked her to prom! Life couldn't get any better. Enter Samantha-cheerleader queen and Miss Popularity- who has made it quite clear that Rob should be her prom date. Mia is desperate to make sure she doesn't end up dumped in front of the whole school. So with prom in just a few days, she turns to Candice- her holistic, hypochondriac best friend- and decides to try a love spell to make Rob stay with her. Unfortuantely, she ends up inflicting a zombie virus on her whole class instead, and she is their zombie leader! At first, she loves all the attention. But when she learns from zombie hunter hottie Chase that her classmates will actually try to eat her in a few days, she's not too thrilled. She's sure she and Chase can figure something out, but in the meantime, she's suggesting that no one wear white to prom, because things could get very messy.
Wdebo's Review: After reading something like Wintergirls, it is always nice to read something not so serious. Zombie Queen was a great candidate for that spot! It was like having one of those chessy zombie movies played in front of my eyes plus romance. But I'm not complaining, a girl needs to fill her romance quota up every day :D
I liked the story for its chesiness. It was sweet and cliche and I totally guessed the ending. woohoo for me!! LOL.
I didn't really like Mia, she seemed too weak. She was very fickle and her whole life just revolved around Rob everything she did was Rob, Rob this Rob that yuck. Also, gawd this is what angers me about Zombie romance novels, she overlooks the most obvious clues and then all of a sudden when the clue turns on her she always goes, eh what just happened? Eh.
Favorite Character: Chris-Ok I mean hottie zombie slayer yeah!!
All in all, it was a sweet cute book for those who just need a break from a seriousness of the world and need cliche ness to help them run away from reality into a cotton candy, love filled, zombie love world. Yeppers!!

I am a little frustrated that there were so many loopholes but I liked it nonetheless =)
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this one.
ReplyDeleteDiana- Same here I kno I did like it too!
ReplyDeleteInsert- You should!
Yeah it was sweet and cliche. The main guy's name was Chris? Wow, I completely forgot his name haha I thought this one was pretty okay. I also didn't like Mia she was pretty darn lame but at the same time funny and entertaining to read about.
ReplyDeleteSo very true...even Chris' name was cliche lol
