Summary (From Front Flap): There are many words to describe Michael J Fox: Actor. Husband. Father. Activist. But reads of Always Looking Up will soon add another to the list: Optimist. Michael writes about the hard won perspective that helped him see challenges as oppurtunites. Instead of building walls around himself, he developed a personal policy of engagement and discovery: an emotional, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual outlook that has served him throughout his struggle with Parkinson's disease. Michael's exit from a very demanding, very public arena offered him the time-and the inspiration-to open up new doors leading to unexpected places. One door even led him to the center of his own family, the greatest destination of all.

Wdebo's Review: There are good memoirs and bad memoirs, the good ones are the ones that keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next making you laugh out loud at random parts, and cry at others, while bad memoirs make you just...numb, they're so boring, and all you can think is Will this guy shut up already??!! Always Looking Up defidently falls into the good memoirs category.

While there were some numb-making moments, this memoir was great. Michael has a very John Gorgon style of writing, there were funny parts and then there were thought-provoking moments. He does sprinkle in lots of jokes all over the place, my favorite part is when he's talking about waiting outside a restaurant, and squirming around because of his PD and having a druggie come up to him thinking he needs a hit. I don't know why, but that just randomly made me burst out laughing. He uses some highly sophisticated words, which is surprising for someone who only got through junior year of high school. But it was a nice change of scenary to like be reading the word Like or Oh My God in everyother paragraph.

I had never actually thought much about Parkinsons (The disease Michael has), I mean I knew what it was called and that was all, but to hear/read about someone going through that was a pretty eye-opening experience.

I remember watching Spin City when I was younger, it was an "adult" show to me, so most of the humor I couldn't understand, and I still remember the title end where they had that manhole cover spinning, but I don't remember Michael's character at all...wait, never mind I do a bit. He talked about acting in his show and how he had to hide behind diffrent things/people so as to not show his PD, he did a hella of a job, because no one (at least I didn't) suspect anything, that is pretty amazing. And I remember watching that episode when he was that OCD doctor...BEST SCRUBS EPSIDOE EVER!! It's so funny and great!! :) I just watched it like a week ago...bahaha XD He is such a great actor...the toilet thing made me die laughing.

All in all, a pretty good memoir for those who would like to understand Parkinsons more, and the life of Michael J Fox more and just those who would like a good NF book.

Fated to Love You

So, Diana recently told me that she was watching Fated to Love You, and I decided that I totally needed to review it. [Yeah, I'm reviewing it more like a book!!]

Fated to Love You is one of the highest rated TDrama...check it out! :)

Title: Fated to Love You
Chinese Title: Ming Zhong Zhu Ding Wo Ai Ni
Also Known As: Sticky Note Girl and Destiny Love
Amount of Episodes: 24
Theme Song: 99 Times I Loved Him
Ending Song: Sticky Note Love
Starring: Joe Chen as Chen Xi Yi, Etan Ruan as Ji Chun Xi, Bianca Bai as Anna, and Baron Chen as Dylan.
Reccomended For: Older Viewers (14 +)
Summary: Chen Xin Yi is an ubber plain girl, from the way she's dressed, the way she looks to her name. She is a "sticky note" girl, she lets people walk all over her and become their personal assistant without thinking twice about it.
One day, her and her boyfriend go onto love cruise. There she meets Cun Xi, the sole male heir of his father's company. Cun Xi has been in love with his girlfriend, Anna, a ballerina who is playing the lead in Swan Lake in New York, for a long time, and planned to propose to her on the cruise, before she said she couldn't go, so he went on the cruise by himself.
That night, Xin Yi accidently drinks too much cold medicine and gets in a very disoriented state, while contemplating whether to give up her virginity to her boyfriend, and Cun Xi gets drugged by the island owner. CX stubbles into his room, then soon XY comes into his room thinking that this is her room. Then, XY thinking CX is her BF and CX thinking XY is Anna, they both have a one night stand.
When they learn the error of their ways, they part, thinking they would never see each other again. Then, XY finds out she's knocked up and the whole story takes a turn of pace with CX's grandmother forcing them to get married, but can love really be forced, and what happens when Anna gets back? And the mysterious Dylan comes into XY's life?

Wdebo's Review:
I really did enjoy this drama it was funny and just wonderful, even though there were random parts that were slow and kinda boring. It was all so great, except the one night stand part, was ubber awkward lol, I just had to skip over that.
The acting was really great, it was so sweet to see Joe go from plain to pretty. I liked all of the characters, except for Anna, she really does not know how to treat her boyfriend who loves her so much! She stood him up so many times, and Cun Xi is stupid to let her walk all over him like that.
Now I have to talk about CX's dog, Ji Bao Bei. OK, that dog is like more spoiled then I am. Oh, the dog has it's own I POD! I only have a crappy little shuffle, and the dog is pushed around in a stroller and not allowed to have her paws touch the ground. Bah.
But I thought their love was super sweet :) It was such a cute love story, though some middle parts were really boring. The ending was unnaturlly sweet, loved it, awesome end of such a great series!!
All in all, I think a lot of people would like this drama, it was easy for me to relate to, being the wallflower that I am, but it was super dupper sweet! And the opening song ROCKS!!

Waiting On Wednesday (4)

Brought to you by Jill at Breaking The Spine
Now onto the book...

I Kissed a Zombie And I Liked It By: Adam Selzer

Summary (From Amazon): Algonquin “Ali” Rhodes, the high school newspaper’s music critic, meets an intriguing singer, Doug, while reviewing a gig. He’s a weird-looking guy—goth, but he seems sincere about it, like maybe he was into it back before it was cool. She introduces herself after the set, asking if he lives in Cornersville, and he replies, in his slow, quiet murmur, “Well, I don’t really live there, exactly. . . .”

When Ali and Doug start dating, Ali is falling so hard she doesn’t notice a few odd signs: he never changes clothes, his head is a funny shape, and he says practically nothing out loud. Finally Marie, the school paper’s fashion editor, points out the obvious: Doug isn’t just a really sincere goth. He’s a zombie. Horrified that her feelings could have allowed her to overlook such a flaw, Ali breaks up with Doug, but learns that zombies are awfully hard to get rid of—at the same time she learns that vampires, a group as tightly-knit as the mafia, don’t think much of music critics who make fun of vampires in reviews. . . .

Why I Want to Read This: Come on...dead people and romance??!! My kind of book!! It looks so sweet and funny..but that vampire refrence was really random...The summary is just going on about zombies and suddenly...boom...vampire refrence! And it just makes me laugh, lol, funny shaped head? Bahahaha the guy on the cover doesn't have THAT weird of a head.

I really like the cover its cool, and doesn't that girl look exactly like Emma Watson? The title is oh-so Kathy Perry. [I seriously hate that song...it's so annoying and the mv scares me].
I want this book soo badly!!!

Release Date: Janury 26, 2010

So, what are you waiting on?
