Summary (From B.O.B): Nana Komatsu is a young woman who's endured an unending string of boyfriend problems. Moving to Tokyo, she's hoping to take control of her life, and put all those messy misadventures behind her. She's looking for love and she's hoping to fit in.

Nana Osaki, on the other hand, is cool, confident and focused. She swaggers into town and proceeds to kick down the doors to Tokyo's underground punk scene. She's got a dream and won't give up until she becomes Japan's No. 1 rock'n'roll superstar.

This is the story of two 20-year-old women who share the same name. Even though they came from completly different backgrounds, they somehow meet and become best friends. The world of NANA is a world exploding with sex, music, fashion, gossip and all-night parties.

Wdebo's Review: (I've only read the first volume so far so I can't say all that much :D ) The cover at first threw me off and I didn't feel like reading it at all. It looked like a manga for ghost stories or something...old, and I couldn't read the back at all because there was a GIANT LABEL BLOCKING IT! Doesn't that just piss you off when that happens?

So, when I started it, I found it weird and everything, then when I started reading it, it got better and better. I really got into both of the stories and was cheering on both Nanas until the end. Both Nana's stories were very raw and true. I really loved the characters and feel what they were feeling.

I really love Shoji Endo, at the beginning he's such a yuck but after he gets better <3>
All in all, for all manga lovers Nana is just PERFECT for you!

Grade: A

  1. I have the whole collection of Nana. Nana has 19 volumes so far, and it hasn't ended yet. The story is getting dim and sad. I hope it ends soon!! In fact, I'm a comic-addict! Ha.

  2. I have to say, the first volume did not hold my attention. It wasn't until the second one that it did. I've read up to like volume 14 or so, pretty amazing and loaded with drama!
